Indian Army announces recruitment for SSC Tech 2023, inviting applications from eligible male and female engineering graduates and widows of Armed Forces Defence Personnel.
The Indian Army has recently activated the online application portal for unmarried male and female engineering graduates and widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel for SSC Tech 2023. The programme is aimed at training participants for the Indian Army’s SSC(Tech)-62 Men Course or SSCW(Tech)-33 Women Course, starting in April 2024 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Application and Eligibility Criteria
Applicants interested in enlisting for this service are advised to apply online at joinindianarmy.nic.in. The application window closes on July 20, 2023. For the JAG course, applications will be accepted from 22 June through 21 July, and for the NCC Special Entry Scheme course, from 5 June through 3 August.
For the 62nd SSC Tech (Men) and 33rd SSC Tech (Women) Courses in the Indian Army, candidates must hold an engineering degree by April 2024.
Final year students can also apply provided they can present the degree within 12 weeks of the training’s start date.
The selection process includes shortlisting candidates based on engineering degree marks, followed by a five-day SSB interview.
Judge Advocate General (JAG) Course
The JAG course recruits into the Indian Army those who have completed an LLB with at least a 55% grade point. Candidates must be registered as advocates with the Bar Council of India.
The eligible age range for JAG applicants is from 21 to 27 years. Successful candidates will undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
NCC Special Entry Scheme Course
The NCC Special Entry Scheme course requires applicants to possess a C certificate and at least a B grade. Candidates must also have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum grade point average of 50%.
Students in their final year are eligible to apply. The permissible age range for this course is from 19 to 25 years.
