Applications open for candidates from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and OBCs of Meghalaya, and children of Safaiwallas
The Director of the All India Services Pre-Examination Training Centre in Meghalaya has invited applications from eligible male and female candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) of Meghalaya for free coaching for the UPSC Civil Services (Qualifying) Examination 2024 and Civil Services Mains (Written) Examination 2023. The children of Safaiwallas are also eligible to apply for this opportunity.
Coaching Details and Eligibility
The coaching will be conducted in English medium, catering to candidates who are over 21 years of age and have passed a degree examination with a minimum of 50 percent average marks in aggregate. Candidates who have undergone training at least once in any pre-examination training center in the country, those who intend to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2024, or have appeared once in the CS Prelims Examinations, and any fresh applicants are all eligible for consideration for enrolment in the center’s coaching program.
Applicants are required to apply to the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) for admission into the CS Prelims Examination 2024 within the time frame fixed by the UPSC.
Hostel Facilities and Seats
Eligible candidates can avail themselves of hostel facilities, and food will be provided by the center free of cost on a first-come, first-served basis, up to a maximum of 75 seats. The total capacity for selected candidates is 100.
Application Process and Deadline
The last date for receipt of applications in the prescribed form is 15th May 2023. Applications must be made only in the format presented on the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI) website at mati.gov.in through the given link on the website. Applicants may be asked to furnish documents later, as required by the office.
The list of selected candidates will be available at the Establishment Room, MATI Campus, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong on 30th May 2023 and on www.mati.gov.in.
Classes will commence on 5th June 2023, and the duration of the course will be until the CSE Prelims 2024 only.
This initiative by the All India Services Pre-Examination Training Centre, Meghalaya, aims to provide quality coaching and support to underprivileged candidates who aspire to join the prestigious civil services. By offering free coaching, the center hopes to level the playing field and create equal opportunities for candidates who might not have access to quality coaching due to financial constraints.
