Understanding NATA and Its Significance
The NATA is a critical entrance exam for aspirants looking to pursue a career in architecture. It measures applicants’ aptitude in various fields related to architecture, including cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity, logical reasoning, and critical thinking ability, among other areas.
The Council of Architecture said, “NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for a specific field of study, i.e., Architecture, through assessment of cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity tests, logical reasoning and critical thinking ability, etc., besides the learning that the candidate has acquired over the past few years and is related to the specific field of study.”
The Exam Pattern
For those unacquainted, NATA consists of two parts:
- Part A, which assesses cognitive skills for drawing and visual composition
- Part B is designed to test mathematical reasoning, general aptitude, and physics, chemistry, and mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Each section is strategically crafted to evaluate the comprehensive ability of candidates towards the architectural field, ensuring they have the necessary foundational knowledge to thrive in a BArch program.
