Human Resources Management (HRM) is a term used to describe the activities undertaken by an organization to ensure that it has the right personnel in the right positions while simultaneously ensuring that the organization’s personnel are both productive and content.
This can involve a range of activities, including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, and the management of employee relations.
At its core, HRM includes both the recruitment of new personnel, as well as the retention and development of existing personnel. It also involves the management of employee relations, which includes dealing with grievances and disputes, as well as the enforcement of workplace policies and regulations.
